Phil’s Success Stories
Debbie D.
I knew when I joined the Center two years ago I needed guidance to help me build strength and increase flexibility. Working with the training staff has been the best decision to help me reach those goals. Phil is a great motivator. We work on a program to build my core strength. He introduced me to mobility exercises, which help improve my flexibility. I am continually amazed at what I accomplish as a result of Phil’s guidance. Phil assures I do each exercise correctly to help prevent injuries. I cannot neglect to mention his warm personality and encouraging attitude. Sometimes, it’s difficult to get to the Center, but I feel so much better after our workouts!

I joined the Center in January 2014. Within a couple weeks, I started training with Phil who helped me along my fitness journey. Losing weight and changing my body composition was the result of his knowledge. Phil helped build me from scratch. I was so out of shape. Now, I am active every day! Before joining the Center, I did not have energy and my flexibility was limited. I struggled with obesity. Today, I enjoy training with Phil a couple times weekly, which I supplement with Cycling class, jumping rope, biking, and hiking trails. I love swimming laps and Boxing class, all of which were encouraged by Phil. I confidently say I am in the best shape of my life now. I am grateful to Phil for his mentoring. He continuously creates new workouts so I never get complacent. He keeps it fresh and fun while building rapid strength and outstanding fitness. Phil also helped me prepare for my first 5K run last summer, and accompanied me. I never thought such an event would be possible! Thank you, Phil, for my new life! This is a lifestyle, and I will continue to evolve from it.

I worked with a trainer at another gym who only cared about how much weight I could lift. At the Center, I chose Phil as my trainer because he did a great job with my parents. Phil shows me there is more to training than being able to lift a lot of weight. He created a program to work my core and parts of my body I didn’t know existed. He made a fitness plan customized for me. He always changes the exercises to keep my interest. He makes sure my form is correct to help prevent injuries. And, he always asks how I felt since the last workout. Most importantly, Phil makes me laugh and have a good time while working out.

What would life be like without Phil? I would be sitting home, never working out. Phil helped me transform my life. I used to hate exercising. I signed up for personal training, thinking I was going to waste my money. They suggested I work with Phil. I am very happy they did. Phil always makes me feel comfortable. I have back and neck issues, which he always takes into account. He evolves my workouts to keep them interesting. He has a great personality, and is friendly to everyone. If he sees somebody doing something wrong, he will correct them, even if it is not his client. He does not want anyone to get hurt.

I have had a great experience training with Phil LiPomi. He understands my physical limitations (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis). He designs fitness programs that challenge me to move beyond my comfort zone while staying safe. I lost inches and pounds. I gained confidence and strength. His workouts are creative. He uses a variety of equipment and movements, which help the sessions go quickly. Phil constantly refreshes the program to work my entire body, including muscles I never knew I had. This challenges me and keeps me interested. He uses creativity and imagination to break down tasks and modify exercises to match my physical abilities. Phil always ensures I do each exercise correctly. He motivates me to return to the Center by keeping me interested and accountable to my goals. Phil is knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. His energy and positive attitude are infectious. He really cares about his clients.

Recently, my 14-year-old daughter, Jess, and I joined the Center. She plays on a competitive softball team as a catcher. Jess wanted to stay conditioned during the off-season, so I signed her up for personal training with Phil. I cannot say enough good about Phil and our experience. He is impressively knowledgeable, and teaches Jess a lot. He customized a program for her to specifically focus on muscle groups used in her sport. He challenges her while keeping within safe parameters. He also teaches her methods to protect herself on the field. Phil is always friendly and makes Jess feel comfortable. That’s not always easy when working with teens! Jess and I are lucky to have met Phil. We intend to include him as part of her long-term training program.
