It’s been almost five months since I started training with Tanner. As a woman over 40, I’ve heard consistently that strength training is one of the most powerful things a woman over 40 can do to stay healthy and strong. Strength training is critical to prevent age-related muscle loss, increase fat loss, increase bone density, and increase functional movement. But I didn’t know where to begin! I had no problem jumping on the treadmill, rower, stair master, elliptical, or even the machines, but I was terrified of free-weights, bench pressing, deadlifts, squats, etc. Tanner changed that for me. In the past few months, I have lost 4.4% body fat and have gained 1.5 lbs of skeletal muscle mass. Tanner is a patient, encouraging, and thoughtful trainer. He is a perfectionist when it comes to teaching proper form. I feel safe when I am lifting with Tanner, and I’m seeing the benefits. I am a work in progress, but I am confident I will reach my goals with Tanner’s encouragement, knowledge, and dedication to pushing me to be the best version of myself.
