Rock Steady Boxing – Freehold, NJ – Monmouth County
The Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) Wellness Program at CentraState is designed to improve the function and quality-of-life of people living with Parkinson’s Disease through non-contact, boxing-inspired movements and exercise. While focusing on overall fitness, strength development, reaction time and balance, RSB workouts include: focus mitts, heavy bags, speed bags, jump rope and core work. No prior boxing experience is necessary and anyone with Parkinson’s disease may participate, regardless of age. The RSB Wellness Program offers different levels of classes to accommodate varying degrees of Parkinson’s fitness and mobility.
An on-going program that consists of two 90-minute RSB classes each week with a fitness professional.
The Rock Steady Boxing Program is a collaboration between the OceanFirst Rehabilitation Center at CentraState and the CentraState Fitness & Wellness Center. Each class will be taught by a certified RSB instructor and Personal Trainer. Prior to starting the program, you will be required to complete an initial evaluation, which will help us determine if you are healthy enough to participate in RSB and what class to place you in. We will also check with your healthcare provider before you begin RSB.
