Barbara Fedorchak

Barbara FedorchakBarbara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Montclair State University, and certifications in personal training from the World Instructor Training Schools and the American Council on Exercise. Her involvement with exercise began at age 2.5 years, when she started classical dance lessons. She grew to perform in numerous ballet and en pointe recitals.

Barbara’s goal is to help members live longer, healthier, safer lives by providing appropriate exercise programs that target posture, balance, and core strengthening. Her experience, patience, and passion are a perfect fit for members of all ages, especially for the baby boomer and older generations.

Dedicated to the community at large, Barbara helped organize walk and run teams for major charities. She enjoys reading, yoga, and travel.

She looks forward to meeting you on the Exercise Floor.

I joined the Center in July 2013 to get into a regular exercise regimen. I planned to take a few sessions with a trainer and then go on my own.

That plan changed when I met Barbara. Two and one-half years later, I am still training with her twice weekly. I have osteoporosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). My goal was to increase my bone density and muscle mass, improve my posture (affected by the osteo), and improve my pulmonary function. Thanks to Barbara’s knowledge and dedication, my bone density test showed substantial improvement, my posture is improving, and my COPD is controlled with just a once daily inhaler. My muscle mass, balance, and mobility are much better than when I started this program. Barbara makes exercise enjoyable. I look forward to our training sessions. She always changes my program so the sessions are never boring. She is friendly and easy-going. Her focus is clearly on her client. She makes sure everything is done correctly to get the most effective workout. Barbara is such an inspiration! I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their physical and mental well-being.

My husband and I have been training with Barbara since fall 2012. We are well into our Medicare years. Working with Barbara definitely improves our lives, and enables us to better engage in our daily and recreational activities. Her individually planned workouts address various areas, including cardio, strength, balance, and endurance. If we have an ache or pain, she either steers clear of anything that would exacerbate the condition or engages us in exercises to help relieve it. Many of our workouts include functional movement training to help improve execution of everyday tasks. My husband had hip replacement surgery. Working with Barbara in the months prior really helped improve his recovery. Barbara’s training has allowed us to enjoy hiking with our children. We have joined our family on trips to several national parks. Being able to hike more of the trails increased our enjoyment of the parks as well as the time with our children and grandchildren. Barbara stepped up our routine prior to a recent trip to the Grand Canyon. With her training, we better enjoyed our visit there, keeping pace (almost) with our grandkids! Barbara helps us train for daily life and gets us in top shape for our special events.
